Hello, this is Trainer Tony here with my latest blog entry, and a Howlin hoot to all you fellow wolfen. This entry is all about the title. I preach these things all the time to members and clients of mine, maybe if I continue to write about it, people will get it…(Not) This ‘It’ I am talking about is…. ‘Trends’. Whether it be about foods, supplements, or training programs, or how much you do any of these things, they will all disappoint you in the long run. When I was studying sports medicine back in 1997, we did a study on all things involving health and fitness and their advertising, especially t.v. We found that the one message they all had in common was clear… ‘This (Thing) will change your life.’ Although each and every thing on t.v. may change your life for a moment, but sadly none of these are geared for a lifetime plan. They all have a short life-span and ultimately…. ‘Plateau’. Not to mention, they are trying to sell you something… Duh. There is a reason why gyms will always be in business, and that’s because most people can’t possibly hold all the equipment you really need to sustain a complete balanced body, not to mention the boredom that comes with training at home. Remember, it’s probably the most positive ‘social outlet’ there is. Lots of energy to feed on and the right gym can certainly become a strong platform for you to showcase what you can do physically, and it is soooo cool when you hear peoples’ stories of how they have come to make fitness a ‘Lifestyle’ and not just something you do from time to time. We all have goals when we are in the gym. It comes down to a minimum of 5 days a week of training, and 6 meals a day of healthy, balanced foods. Real simple right? Not at first, but if you stay with it, you will succeed. Remember… Nothing Rewarding comes without putting in the time and the hard work required to execute a Balanced body.
